Hiring as a videographer - FAQs
1. What kinds of video jobs do you take on?
I specialise in stopmotion, timelapses and 360/VR filming, so the kinds of jobs I take on usually utilise one or more of those techniques. For example, stopmotion gives a very unique feel to a video, so clients have usually thought a good deal about the effect, overall look and end result they want to achieve before contacting me. I'm interested in both general stopmotion work and in more creative work, including 360 footage geared up to be viewed on VR headsets. So if you have any ideas then I'm always happy to hear and consider them.
2. What equipment do you use for 360 filming?
For 360 filming I have several camera rigs that are suitable for different situations. For most 360 filming I use a GoPro Omni rig which consists of six GoPro Hero 4 cameras. I also use a custom rig made from twelve Sony 4k cameras on occasion, and for situations that require a smaller and lighter rig (e.g. one that can be head-mounted) I use a Nikon Keymission 360 or four Kodak SP360 4K action-cameras (mounted on a custom 3D printed mount).
3. What editing software do you use?
For 360 filming I stitch footage together using Kolor Autopano Video Pro and Kolor Autopano Giga. I then further edit the footage in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
